Erika is a self taught contemporary landscape painter whose work is focused on images of the sea, coastlines and colorful cliffs along the California Coast. Working primarily with oil and pallet knives, Erika’s work explores the infinite textures of nature in this region and the constant changing of the shoreline.

Born in Kansas City, it was apparent from day one that Erika had a love for the outdoors. Spending her days collecting bugs, chasing animals, and playing with friends, there was always a special bond between Erika and the outside world. So much so, she took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles, California in 2016 to start her career as a speech therapist. After a road trip up the coast with her mom, Erika fell in love with the endless beauty of Big Sur and the only thing she knew to do after was to paint what she experienced.

Erika resides on the westside of LA with her husband, working full time as a speech therapist and painting in her free time. She continues to explore the California coast to hike the trails, smell the flowers, and seek inspiration from God’s abundant creation.
